The papers of Bert John Vos are arranged into two series; Research notes and Personal files. This small collection was found amongst the papers of I.U. professor Henry Remak, who had taken the time to further describe and identify some of the files and their content.

Arranged alphabetically by subject, the Research notes series consists of Vos's research files. Subjects include Goethe, Schiller, and Faust, among various others. Significant portions of the research notes appear to relate to several of Vos' publications.

The second series, Personal files, is arranged alphabetically by folder title and contains miscellaneous items found with the papers, including a correspondence file, a music festival program, and ship passenger list.
