Background

Biographical / Historical:

From the Kelley MBA web site:

The Masters of Business Administration Association is the student-managed not-for-profit umbrella organization chartered to enrich the quality of student life and building relationships between students, faculty, administration, alumni, prospective students, and the business community. Through a network that includes 8 professional clubs, 5 networking clubs, 3 support clubs, and 25 committees, the MBAA provides an essential infrastructure that organizes, coordinates, and funds many non-academic student activities including educational, cultural, and social programs that enhance the Kelley MBA experience. Over 99% of the student population volunatarily joins the MBA Association through a one-time membership fee.

Scope and Content:

The earliest archival holdings of the MBAA newspaper the Kelley MBA Prospectus date from 1984 and at that time, was called the Indiana MBA. Over the years, it went through several name changes, including the Indiana MBA Journal, the CollegIUM, the MBA Prospectus, and finally, the Kelley MBA Prospectus. It is not clear if the February/March 1984 is the first edition of the periodical. Publication frequency varied over the years – bimonthly, monthly, weekly. The last holding in our collection dates to May 2004, though it is not known if that was the final issue of the publication. Within the 20 years of newspapers housed in the Archives, the holdings are complete.

Topics discussed in the newspaper varied, but obviously focused on the MBA program and life as a MBA candidate – discussion of internships, success stories from alums, chatty articles about happenings within the school, etc.
