Carlos O. Miller was born on February 19, 1923 in Jackson, OH. He received his BSc. degree of Agriculture at Ohio State University in 1948, graduating cum laude. He earned his MA degree at Ohio State University in 1949, and completed his PhD. in 1951 at Ohio State University. Upon completion of his PhD program, Miller moved to Madison, WI, where he was appointed as an associate of notable Biologist Folke Skoog. He was also a member of the Editorial Board of Plant Physiology for two terms. He continued his research well after his retirement from teaching in 1987. In 1999, he established the Carlos O.
