Patricia Boehne, 1940-2013, former president of NACS, received her BA, MA, and PhD from Indiana University and was professor emeritus at Eastern University. Her work focused on Catalan literature and poetry. Curt Wittlin, 1941-2019, former president of NACS, was a Swiss philologist at the University of Saskatchewan. He specialized in medieval Catalan language and literature.
