Background
- Biographical / Historical:
Krishna Winston is a professor in the German Studies Department at Wesleyan University. She has translated the works of Günter Grass, Peter Handke, and Werner Herzog, among others. She credits her passion for translation to her parents, Richard and Clara Winston. She was awarded the Helen and Kurt Wolff Prize and has also served on its jury. She is also a two-time winner of the Schlegel-Tieck Translation Prize. Her areas of expertise include 20th century German and Austrian drama and fiction and the work of Thomas Mann.
