Biographical / Historical:

Thomas Radcliffe Atkins, 1939-2008, was founder, editor, and publisher of The Film Journal, which was published in six issues between the spring of 1971 and 1975.

Scope and Content:

The collection covers a wide range of film from the earliest period of cinema through Hollywood's Golden Age up to 1980. Also included in the collection are photographs of film posters, slides from the James Bond thriller The Spy Who Loved Me, and a few printed items, including studio promotional materials and a complete run of The Film Journal.

The collection is arranged alphabetically by the director, actor, or project featured in the photographs.
