Most of the correspondence for these three years relates to his stay there.

The collection also contains: nine itemized bills from Les Frênes; a bound diary, probably written by William Ernest Moenkhaus, chronicling World War I from June 6-Sept. 19, 1918; 13 photographs; a folder of stamp collecting material; and a copy of the Bloomington Evening World, July 15, 1915, containing the article, "Mrs. W. J. Moenkhaus Returns Home - And And Talks Entertainingly Concerning Her Experiences in Europe."

Correspondents include Nathan Banks, Lewellys Franklin Barker, Elmer Burritt Bryan, William Lowe Bryan, Hermon Carey Bumpus, Walter Bradford Cannon, William Austin Cannon, Henry Edward Crampton, Charles Benedict Davenport, Henry Herbert Donaldson, Gilman Arthur Drew, Carl H.
