Two fragments of a leaf (a strip about half an inch in width has been cut from the centre of the leaf) from a Lectionary of the Missal, containing part of the Gospel lesson for Friday in Ember Week in Lent and the following lessons for Saturday. Initials in green and red. Written in Caroline miniscules the general appearance of which suggest that the MS was executed on the Continent; but the letter e is frequently made with a small spur at the back of the loop which is an Anglo-Saxon characteristic. S. Germany, early XI cent.
