Background
- Biographical / Historical:
James Lamar Weygand, 1919-2003, was an American printer and publisher. He was born on November 28, 1919 in Nappanee, Indiana. He began his life's work as an apprentice at the Quality Print Shop, where he remained until his retirement in 1969. Weygand was the owner and operator of the Private Press of the Indiana Kid, producing miniature books, as well as works on Indiana history and those written by various Indiana authors. In addition to being a printer and publisher, he also produced two handmade papers which he used in many of his books. He died on July 13, 2003.

The collection includes correspondence, wood type, paper molds, periodicals, publications, catalogs, newspaper clippings, sheet music, guides to presses and printers, an index to the printing art, a wooden scale model of a miniature Gutenberg Press, paper samples, miniature books, book plates and playing cards.
