Colonel James Sprigg Wilson was Chief Surgeon of the American Expeditionary Force in Siberia from 1918-1919.

Scope and Content:

The Wilson, J.S. mss., 1918-1919, consist of a scrapbook of Colonel James Sprigg Wilson, Chief Surgeon of the American Expeditionary Force in Siberia for a year, relating to that expedition.

Included are some letters to Colonel Wilson; photographs of Siberia, American army personnel there, etc.; and newspaper and magazine clippings.

Correspondents represented in the collection include William Sidney Graves, Major General commanding the American Expeditionary Force in Siberia; Fred P. Manget, Acting Commissioner of the American Red Cross in Siberia; and Kenneth Lewis Roberts, author, who served as a captain in the American Expeditionary Force in Siberia in 1918 and 1919.

Note on Indexing Term - "Slavs": The bulk of the collection consists of photographs of Vladivostock and newspaper clippings related to the Allied intervention in Siberia.
