Background
- Biographical / Historical:
Barry Saltzman, 1961- , has a wide array of theatrical experience, having worked in Don't Drink the Water and Once Upon A Mattress at the Red Barn Summer Theatre with Alice Ripley, Weekend Comedy at the Blue Moon Dinner Theatre. He performed in Chicago in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom with Jackie Hoffman and Alexandra Billings, as well as Julius Caesar, Broadway Bound, The Merry Widow and many others. He has appeared in the national tours of The Real Live Brady Bunch at the Kennedy Center and other venues with Danny Bonaduce, Kate Flannery, Ana Gasteyer and Davy Jones, among others.
After moving to Los Angeles, he created, co-produced and hosted The Beachwood Palace Jubilee at ACME and other theatres which featured a "Who's Who" of comic talent, including Jack Black, Steve Carell, Jon Favreau, Will Ferrell, Jane Lynch and Molly Shannon, among many others.
Other stage credits include a recurring Panelist in What's My Line? – Live On Stage at the Barrow Street Theatre off-Broadway and at ACME with a host of celebrities including Nanette Fabray, Camryn Manheim, Rose Marie, Jayne Meadows, Rip Taylor, George Wendt and Fred Willard. He received multiple awards for his work with StageSceneLA including Judgment At Nuremberg with Katharine Ross and Drake Hogestyn at the Santa Monica Playhouse (StageSceneLA's Best Performance By A Featured Actor: Drama); Letting Go at the Raven Playhouse (StageSceneLA's Outstanding Featured Actor: Drama); Amadeus (Ovation nomination: Best Season, StageSceneLA's Best Production: Drama and Outstanding Acting In An Ensemble Cast: Drama); Breaking The Code (StageSceneLA's Best Ensemble: Drama); and The Limitations Of Genetic Technology at Theatre of NOTE (Backstage Garland Award Nomination: Production).
Television credits include recurring and supporting roles on General Hospital and film credits include Danny Roane: First Time Director and Slight (Action On Film Festival: Winner-Best Short Short). Barry is an Indiana University 1983 graduate.
