Background
- Biographical / Historical:
Susanne Schlechter was born in Stubben, Germany, in 1961. She graduated from Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (The Braunschweig University of Art) in 1986. Between 1987 and 1990, she toured Australia, Germany, and the United States with her exhibition "Artists' Books / Künstlerbücher." From 1988 to 1990, she was a member of the artist and studio community Karg e.V. in Oldenburg, Germany, and continued to pursue art in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, she began working as a museum educator, and she became the director of the Ovelgönne Handicraft Museum in 2011.
