- Biographical / Historical:
Jonathan Brooks is the sometime pseudonym of John Calvin Mellett, 1888-1976. Part of a prominent Indiana journalist family, Mellett graduated from Indiana University, taught at the University of Maine, worked with the federal government in Washington, D.C. during World War I, and later became active as an executive with Indiana utilities. His short stories and novels reflect his experiences in the field of sports, in the newspaper and magazine world, in the utilities industry, and with the government during the time of President Wilson.
