Background

Biographical / Historical:

Carol Polsgrove was a member of the faculty of the Indiana University School of Journalism from 1989 until her retirement in 2008. Before her time at Indiana, Polsgrove wrote for magazines such as The Progressive, Sierra, The Nation, The Atlantic Monthly, and the American Prospect, and served as an editor for both Mother Jones and The Progressive.

Scope and Content:

Audiocassette recordings include interviews with Michael Herr, Rust Hills, Gordon Lish, Gloria Steinem, Gay Talese, Gore Vidal, and Tom Wolfe. Speeches include memories of Harold Hayes at various memorials.
