Background
- Biographical / Historical:
Betsy Rosenberg was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1946. As a student at both Connecticut College and Hebrew University, she completed coursework in applied music, musicology, theater, English literature, and comparative linguistics. Rosenberg followed several career paths as a flutist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, as a jazz singer at the Khan Theater and the Jerusalem Theater, and as an editor and translator. Rosenberg has translated 12 books and has authored more than 25 pieces herself, many of which are poems. In 2000, she received the Marsh Award for Children's Literature in Translation for her translation of Duel by David Grossman from Hebrew to English. Rosenberg has been a resident of Jerusalem, Israel since 1967.

The collection consists of correspondence and drafts relating to Betsy Rosenberg's translation of works by various Hebrew authors into English, including David Grossman. Also included are drafts and clippings of articles and poetry by Rosenberg.
