Scope and Content:

The IASR collection consists of seven boxes divided into four series: 1) Organizational, 2) Conferences, 3) Publications, and 4) Financial Documents. Each series is further divided into sub-series in which the folders are arranged chronologically.

A general description of the contents of the separate series is as follows: the Organizational series contains materials relevant to the IASR constitution, the election of the IASR president and the secretary-treasurer, and the nomination and selection of new members; the Conferences series contains materials relevant to conference site selection, planning, symposia and research workshop coordination, and mailings; the Publications series contains materials relevant to the Archives of Sexual Behavior (call # J520 Ar6), the journal of the IASR; and the Financial Documents series contains bank statements and receipts relevant to IASR dues, conference expenditures, and other financial matters.

For further information relevant to the IASR, see the Kinsey holdings. The Kinsey Institute holdings contain over 70 items relevant to the IASR including conference programs, collected conference abstracts, conference posters, and a short history of the Academy by IASR founder Richard Green in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, call number J520 Ar6 v.14, no.4. In addition, see the Gephard era correspondence in the Kinsey archives with the founding members of the IASR (e.g. Dr. Richard Green, Dr. John Bancroft, etc.).

The materials donated in February of 2006 have been incorporated into the 2003 collection. The additional folders can be recognized by the decimal points used to incorporate the new material without upsetting the organization of the original donation. (Folder 2.1, 3.5, etc.) They have also been labeled with the following scope note: [Received in 2006 donation]
