- Biographical / Historical:
Richard C. Rea is the great grandson of John Rea, MD (1818-1899), grandson of George N. Rea, MD (1852-1885), and son of Clarence G. Rea, MD (1880-1938). It is believed that the objects in this collection originally belonged to Dr. John Rea.
- Scope and Content:
This collection contains scopes, tonsillotomes, syringes, surgical and dissecting kits, probes, scalpels, and a variety of other medical instruments ranging in date from circa 1790-1950.
