The Indiana AIDS Fund Records consist of six series: Administrative Records, Financial Records, Grant Records, Events, Associated Organizations, and Publications and Reports.

Administrative Records, 1986-2004, includes minutes and agendas from Advisory Board/Board of Directors meetings, as well as committee reports, board members' and directors' correspondence, proposal evaluations, and institutional affiliations. Together, these give insight into the institutional history of the IAF, as well as its rationale for funding decisions.

Financial Records, 1989-2003, contains financial records and reports, but is dominated by materials concerning the IAF's efforts to seek outside funding, especially proposals, communications, and grant agreements. This significantly includes documentation of their National AIDS Fund partnership grants, as well as a number of prominent local Indianapolis foundations and trusts.

Grant Records, 1997-2005, is divided into two subseries: Grants Awarded and Rejected Proposals. Grants Awarded contains grant agreements, correspondence, and financial/activity reports from organizations the IAF supported during this time period. Each grant either funded a particular project led by that organization, as part of the yearly awards made by the IAF, or is identified as direct emergency financial assistance (DEFA). These DEFA grants served as urgently needed financial support for unexpected occurrences in the circumstances of people living with HIV/AIDS. Rejected proposals track unsuccessful applications for funds. Note that some organizations might be represented in both sub-series.

Events, 1995-2004, consists predominately of materials relating to the two main annual events sponsored by the IAF: AIDS Walk Indy and Spotlight. Each of these merits its own subseries, arranged chronologically, which details the planning, publicity, and results of the events. The series also contains records of meetings, conferences, and less-regular events involving the IAF. Associated Organizations, 1998-2005, contains records of organizations affiliated with the IAF or its board members, and with similar missions. These include primarily the Indiana HIV/AIDS Alliance; Learning Well, an organization dedicated to providing school-based primary health care services for Indiana children; and Youth and Diversity, a project to educate individuals working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) youth in Indiana.

Publications and Reports, 1988-2006, are subject-related files maintained by the IAF, concerning HIV/AIDS prevention, as well as GLBT and "Out" subject matter more generally, especially relating to youth outreach and support. The series includes clippings and articles, conference reports, resource guides, funding guides, newsletters, pamphlets, and one video.
