- Biographical / Historical:
David E. Mason is a well-known author on the issues of nonprofit management and the voluntary sector. He wrote two books: Voluntary Nonprofit Enterprise Management (1984) and Leading and Managing the Expressive Dimension: Harnessing the Hidden Power Source of the Nonprofit Sector (1996). His work in the field earned him ARNOVA's Distinguished Achievement and Leadership in Nonprofit and Voluntary Action Research Award in 1999.
- Scope and Content:
The collection contains numerous U-matic cassettes on the topic of nonprofit management, including 10-30 minute segements on growth, volunteers, systems, accounting, and nonprofit constitutencies. The tapes include both finished products and recordings of interviews that are excerpted in those videos. Also included are 6 transcripts.
- Acquisition information:
- David Mason mailed the Umatic cassettes to the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 1999.
- Physical / technical requirements:
The Ruth Lilly Special Collections and Archives does not have the equipment to provide access to the original U-matic cassettes. The materials have been digitized and are available in dark online storage.
