Indiana Senior Corps Directors Association (ISCDA) was organized to unite all Senior Corps Directors into a state-wide organization. This association combines the three programs, Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and Senior Companion Program (SCP). The by-laws, New Director Handbook, RSVP Director's Manual for New RSVP Directors of Indiana, Words of Wisdom for RSVP Directors, two photographs of RSVP volunteer conference, and RSVP pins are included.

Biographical / Historical:

Indiana Senior Corps Directors Association (ISCDA) was organized to unite all Senior Corps Directors into a state-wide organization. This association combines the three programs, Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and Senior Companion Program (SCP).

The objectives of ISCDA are mainly to educate federal, state and local communities concerning the impact of senior volunteers in society, to encourage Senior Corps Directors and associated personnel to participate in professional conferences and educational activities, and to promote quality training programs and in-service training in the field of volunteerism.

The directors of ISCDA have meetings three times a year and a two-day conference to discuss federal trends, problems, training, and conferences. ISCDA breaks down into three clusters, North, Middle, and South.

Scope and Content:

This collection comprises of by-laws, New Director Handbook, RSVP Director's Manual for New RSVP Directors of Indiana, Words of Wisdom for RSVP Directors, two photographs of RSVP volunteer conference, and RSVP pins.

RSVP Director's Manual for New RSVP Directors of Indiana and New Director Handbook explains the whole procedure to operate programs, such as volunteer job descriptions, budget, evaluation, project progress reports including financial status, recruitment and orientation, publicity, newsletters, advisory council and conferences.

Particularly the New Director Handbook describes the programs, terminology and how to submit eGrants forms in detail. Lists of members and regions, an Indiana total corporation funding statement of the 2008-2009 program year, and educational materials for directors are included.

Words of Wisdom for RSVP Directors is a booklet that is printed for the 2001 National Senior Service Corps North Central Cluster Conference.
