The Sendak mss., 20th cent., consists of the pen and ink, wash and pencil drawings of Maurice Sendak, 1928-2012, illustrator.

The Rumely mss., 1838-1965, are the papers of Edward Aloysius Rumely, 1882-1964, physician, educator, and public relations man, and papers relating to his ancestors. The papers consist of correspondence with prominent people both in Europe and the United States; an autobiography; documents dealing with his arrest for perjury in July, 1918, and the pardon by President Calvin Coolidge on January 19, 1925; material on his many fields of interest; pictures, and printed matter.

The Rothenstein mss., 1893-1937, are drawings of prominent Englishmen by Sir William Rothenstein, 1872-1945, artist.

The Rogers, A.J. mss., 1926-1968, consist primarily of original drawings, sketches, blueprints, photographs, and specifications for houses designed by Brown County, Indiana, architect Alvah Judson Rogers, 1894-1977.

The Riley mss., 1858-1944, consist of correspondence and papers of James Whitcomb Riley, 1849-1916, Indiana poet.

The Ricketts mss., 9th-19th cent., are illuminated medieval and renaissance manuscripts assembled by Coella Lindsay Ricketts, 1859-1941, calligrapher, of Chicago, Illinois. Most of the material relates to religious matters.

The Revilliod mss., 1919-1971, are the papers of Mrs. Olga (Masaryk) Revilliod, (Mrs. Henri Jules Revilliod), 1891-1978, daughter of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, 1850-1937, president of Czechoslovak Republic, 1918-1935. They consist of letters from her sister, Alice Garrigue Masaryk, 1879-1966, sociologist, 1950-1962; from Mrs. Ruth (Crawford) Mitchell, 1890-1984, social service worker, 1954- 1964; from U.S. senators, who were sponsoring a bill in Congress for Henri Jules Revilliod, 1873-1956, physician, and Mrs. Olga (Masaryk) Revilliod, to become permanent residents of the United States; from scholars not to pursue the matter of finding a publisher for volume III of the Spirit of Russia; from publishers; and from personal friends. Many of the letters are in Czech. Included are also thirty-one sketchbooks, 1920-1956, of sketches made by Henri Jules Revilliod; a musical composition, Vanocni Koledy, by Karel J. Staller, 1958; memorabilia; pictures; newspaper clippings, and other printed matter. Among the correspondents are Selden Daskam Bacon, Price Daniel, Frederick May Eliot, Harry David Gideonse, Ivan Herben, James Hovorka, John Howland Lathrop, Herbert Henry Lehman, Edward Martin, Alice Garrigue Masaryk, Kenneth Dexter Miller, Mrs. Ruth (Crawford) Mitchell, Premysl Pitter, William Arthur Purtell, Hugh Doggett Scott, James Thomson Shotwell, Grace Harriet Spofford, and Sir Stanley Unwin. The first box in the collection contains biographical information.

The Reutersvärd, Oscar mss., 1980-2000, consist of original drawings of impossible figures and correspondence from/about artist Oscar Reutersvärd, mainly with physicist Bruno Ernst.

The Rawson mss., 1801-1931, are papers of Mrs. Mary Ann (Read) Rawson, (Mrs. William B. Rawson), of Wincobank, near Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.

The Rainer mss., 1948-1971, consists of the correspondence, writings, and memorabilia of author and poet Dachine Rainer, 1921-2000.

The Papé mss., 1924, are original pen and ink illustrations heightened with Chinese white for Anatole France's The Revolt of the Angels drawn by Frank Cheyne Papé, 1878-1972, illustrator.

The O'Brian mss., ca. 1970-1994, consists primarily of notes and full-text manuscripts of author Patrick O'Brian's historical sea novels. Autograph manuscripts for eighteen of the twenty published novels are present.

The Norvelle, D. mss., 1905-1980, consist of the papers of Deborah Starr (Waters) Norvelle, 1911-1980, wife of Indiana University professor Lee Roy Norvelle.

The Nicholson mss., 1929-1973, consist primarily of letters from writer Robert Graves, 1895-1985, to his first wife, artist Nancy Nicholson, 1900-1977, and to his children by that marriage.
