The Lilly Library is the rare books, manuscripts, and special collections library of the Indiana University Libraries, Bloomington. Its collections represent a diversity of subjects, including literature; children’s literature; history; folklore; science; radio, film and television; book collecting and bookselling; journalism; and translation.
The Hays/Brecht mss., ca. 1939-1981, consist primarily of a series of typescripts sent by German playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) to his first American translator, Hoffman Reynolds (H.R.) Hays (1904-1980), along with drafts of translations and related correspondence and documents from Hays's Brecht files.
The Gollancz, Victor mss., 1935-1985, consist of correspondence, reader's reports, and files relating to authors and works published by Victor Gollancz Ltd.
Gatenby, Greg mss., 1977-2006, consists of correspondence of Artistic Director of International Festival of Authors Harbourfront of 28 years, Greg Gatenby (b. 1950).
The Dollenmayer, David, mss., circa 2011-2013, consists of the typescripts and drafts of German-to-English translations by translator David Dollenmayer.
