The Curry, J.S. mss., ca. 1941, consists of those watercolors of John Steuart Curry, 1897-1946, illustrator, which he prepared for illustrating the Limited Editions Club volume of The Literary Works of Abraham Lincoln.

Audio recordings of taped radio show episodes, primarily from the series The Afro-American in Indiana, but also including the additional programs Reflections in Black and Black Heritage, as well as a radio special and recordings from a NAACP convention. The radio shows, hosted by Fr. Boniface Hardin, featured multiple high-profile guests. The episode topics includes sports, music, education, historiography, slavery, the American Civil War, Reconstruction, segregation, the Indiana Constitution, the United States Constitution, church, religion, the NAACP, WWI, WWII, medicine, black businesses, the Institute of Afro American Studies, prison, labor history, and more.

The Messing mss., 1864-1917, consist of letters, documents, and memorabilia relating to the military career of Captain Henry J. Messing, 1844-?, to the 179th Regiment, Co. G, New York Volunteer Infantry with which he served, and to his participation in the encampments of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The Straight mss., 1864-1881, consists primarily of documents and papers relating to Captain David Evander Straight, 1832-1902, and the 100th Regiment, United States Colored Infantry, in the Civil War.

The Blucher mss., 1864-1874, consists of letters and documents relating to U.S. Army officer Brevet Major Gustav von Blucher, 1842-1895.

The Smith, J.A. mss., 1864-1865, consists of the Civil War papers of farmer John Archibald Smith, 1845-1922.

The Applegate mss., 1863-1929, consists mainly of correspondence between John S. Applegate, 1823-1867, and his wife Elizabeth S. (Lynch) Applegate, 1823-1890, during the Civil War, and letters from Elizabeth S. Applegate to their daughter Alma Etta (Applegate) White, 1855-1930.

The Nickerson mss., 1863-1884, consist of the diary and ephemera of James B. Nickerson, 1832-1907, who served in the 40th Ohio Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.

The Willett mss., 1863-1875, consist of letters and documents of the George Willett family of Quincy and Walpole, Massachusetts.

The Hair mss., 1862-1865, consist of the diaries of William Hair, 1836-1920, musician in Company B of the 68th Indiana infantry regiment.

The Adair, Lyle G. mss., 1863-1864, consists of the wartime correspondence of Seargeant Lyle G. Adair, 1843-1918, during his service with the 111th United States Colored Infantry.

The Martin, T.H. mss., 1862-1929, consists of the correspondence and military documents of Civil War soldier Thomas H. Martin, 1836-1918.

The Weaver mss., 1862-1920, consists of the papers of soldier Samuel S. Weaver, 1839-1924, relating to his service in the Civil War.

The Clark, W.A. mss., 1862-1918, consists primarily of letters from Hoosier soldier William Allen Clark, 1844- , to his parents in Rossville, Indiana, during his service in Company K of the 72nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

The Handley mss., 1862-1908, consists of the correspondence and papers of the family of Jesse Handley, 1803-1889, of White Oak Springs, Buckhorn Township, Brown County, Illinois.

The Lamb mss., 1862-1901 (bulk 1862-1865), consist of letters to Mrs. Mary Catherine (Hatten) Lamb from relatives, most of whom were soldiers in the Union Army during the Civil War.

The Webb, A.S. mss., 1862-1898, consists of the correspondence and papers of soldier and educator Alexander Stewart Webb, 1835-1911, relating primarily to the Battle of Gettysburg.

The Hunter mss., 1862-1893, consists of the Civil War documents of Morton Craig Hunter, 1825-1896, brevet brigadier general and congressman from Indiana.

The Weeks mss., 1862-1879, consists of the correspondence and papers of soldier William C. Weeks, 1839-1893, and his brother, army officer Harrison Samuel Weeks, 1844-1892.

The Williams, R. mss., 1862-1866, are Civil War letters to and from Rudolph Williams, 1844?- , and William H. Rudulph, 1840?- , both of whom served in Company K, 111th regiment, Ohio infantry.

The Wooley mss., 1862-1865, comprise a collection of Civil War letters; a diary, January 1-July 11, 1865, and the discharge, July 5, 1865, of Cary A. Wooley, who was born in Ripley County, Indiana, in 1839? and enlisted on August 10, 1862.

The Potter mss., 1862-1865, consist of one roll of negative microfilm of letters of Private Merritt Emory Potter, Company B, 75th Indiana Infantry, to his wife, Mrs. Ellen E. Potter.

The Catey mss., circa 1862–1865, consist of the correspondence between six members of the Catey family serving in different Indiana regiments during the Civil War to the family members at home in Oxford, Indiana (Benton County).

The Barber mss., 1862-1864, consists of the Civil War diary of Confederate soldier Flavel C. Barber, 1830-1864.

The Caldwell mss., 1862-1863, are Civil war letters to William Caldwell, and his wife, Sarah, of Hubbard, Indiana, from James H. Richardson, brother of Mrs. Caldwell, A. H. Caldwell, brother of William Caldwell, and Robert J. Biggs.

The Ochsner mss., 1862, consist of letters from Eduard Ochsner, Wisconsin millworker, to his brother Henry, also living in Wisconsin, during Eduard's period of service in the Civil War with the Union forces. The letters are written in German.

The Flanagan mss., 1861-1962, are the papers of Emma Cecelia (Rector) Flanagan, (Mrs. Edward E. Flanagan), 1870- 1964. They consist primarily of correspondence with the Dreiser and Rose families dealing with personal matters.

The Petmecky mss., 1861-1862 and 1949, consist of letters, 1861-1862, of Karl Petmecky, 1835?-?, to his father, T. A. Petmecky, his sisters, and brothers in Wiesbaden, Germany. His letters relate to his life in America before joining the army, his army service, and news of family and friends.

The Howard mss., 1861-1902, consists of Civil War letters of William Allen Howard, 1821-1881, cabinetmaker, to his wife, Mrs. Louisa Eliza (Roden) Howard, 1833-1893, of Fulton County, Kentucky.

The Washington Territory Infantry mss., 1861-1866, consists of positive photostats of muster rolls, the originals of which are in the files of the U.S. War Department.

The Crist mss., 1861-1865, consists of letters to Barbara Ellen Crist, chiefly from her brother, Milton C. Crist, 1838-1864, and her future husband, John Erastus Lane, 1837-1893, both of whom were soldiers with the Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.

The Pimper mss., 1861-1865, are Civil War letters of Fredrick E. Pimper, a private in Company H, 39th regiment, Ohio infantry, written to Sarah Parrott King, Farmers Station, Clinton county, Ohio.

The Ingersoll mss., 1861-1864, consists of the letters of Frank Ingersoll, 1838?- , soldier and sutler's clerk in the Civil War, Indianapolis turner and scroll and moulding maker, and member of the Indianapolis Fire Department.

The Harding, J. L. mss., 1861-1864, consists of the Civil War letters of John Lucas Harding, 1841-1865, who served in the Indiana Infantry, Seventh Regiment, Company I.

The Hadley mss., 1860-1869, consists of the Civil War letters of John Vestal Hadley, 1842-1915.

The Wilder mss., 1860-1868, consist of letters to Edson Adelman Wilder, 1845-1927, hardware merchant of Orland, Indiana, from his friends and relatives serving in the 100th regiment, Co. B., of the Indiana Infantry.

The Baylor mss., 1860-1862, consists of photostats of correspondence of John Roy Baylor, 1821-1897.

The Remley mss., 1857-1907, are primarily Civil war letters from Ambrose Remley, 1836-1917, farmer, who served in Company E, 72nd regiment, Indiana infantry, from 1862-1865, to members of his family and friends.

The Day, S. mss., 1857-1895, consists primarily of a diary and related papers of Civil War soldier Samuel Day.

The Morris, M. mss., 1856-1903, consist of correspondence and documents relating to Civil War soldier Mark M. Morris, 1841-1902.

The Houser mss., 1855-1863, consists of Civil War-era letters of the family of Jacob Hauser, 1793-1863.

The McDonald mss., 1854-1891, are papers of Joseph Ewing McDonald, 1819-1891, U.S. senator.

The Hanna mss., 1853-1879, consists of papers of John Hanna, 1827-1882, United States congressman from Indiana, 1877-1879.

The Hill mss., 1851-1914, consist mainly of letters and papers of James Nathaniel Hill, 1833-1902, farmer of Owen County, Indiana, and Civil War soldier.

The Rogers mss., 1851-1878, consist of manuscripts of Joseph Goodwin Rogers, 1841-1908, Indiana physician.

The Cravens mss., 1850-1872, consists of the correspondence and papers of farmer, soldier, Indiana legislator, and U.S. congressman James Addison Cravens, 1818-1893.

The Bryan mss., 1849-1863, are chiefly the letters of George Washington Bryan, 1825-1893, physician, exchanged with his wife, Alice (Calhoun) Bryan, during his period of service in 1862-63 with the Union forces along the Mississippi River on the steamers Glasgow, the Tigress, the P. J. Pringle, and at Young's Point, Louisiana.
