The collection consists primarily of materials collected during research for Nelson George's book Where Did Our Love Go?: The Rise and Fall of the Motown Sound (St. Martin's Press, 1985). This includes interviews (audiocassettes and transcripts), photographs, newspaper clippings, magazines, photocopies of legal documents, manuscripts, and correspondence.

The Nellie Showers Teter Quadrangle Student Government represents and serves the students in the student residence dorm. Indiana University Bloomington is the home of the National Center on Accessibility, a collaborative program of IU and the National Park Service. The nation's premiere resource promoting access for people with disabilities in recreation, the NCA is a program within the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and the Department of Recreation and Park Administration. Collection is comprised of reports, studies, brochures, materials used in a summer seminar, and copies of Access today, the Center's newsletter.

The Mystery Writers of America mss., 1945-2019, consist of the records and correspondence of the Mystery Writers of America, Inc., the leading association for professional crime writers in the United States.

Myrtle Scott was a professor of educational psychology at Indiana University from 1970 until her retirement in 2002. Her primary teaching responsibilities were in the Human Development program with a focus on child development, while her research interests centered on developmental and ecological psychology. Scott's papers include biographical files, teaching files, publications, and research notes with some correspondence, with the bulk of the collection consisting of Scott's publications and research notes from 1965-2003.

Myles Brand (1942-2009) was a philosopher and academic administrator who served as the sixteenth president of Indiana University (IU) from 1994 to 2002. Following his appointment at IU, Brand served as the sixth president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 2003 until his death in 2009. This collection contains publications, correspondence, audiovisual media, recording transcripts, and awards from Myles Brand, with a particular focus on his time spent at IU and the NCAA.

The Mullin, Mike mss., c. 2000-2012, consist of typewritten, annotated drafts of young adult fiction author Mike Mullin's novels, Ashfall and Ashen Winter.

The Moorhead mss., 1989-2020, consist of translations from the French and correspondence of poet and translator Andrea Moorhead (b. 1947).

The Moody, Carol mss, ca. 1945-1951, documents the creation and work of Quizdown, a highly popular and successful radio show which was also shown on television.

The correspondence consists primarily of letters from Aurelia Schrober Plath, 1906-1994, to Mary Ann Montgomery. Interfiled among those letters are carbon copies of Dr. Montgomery's letters to Mrs. Plath. Other correspondents present in the collection are Bill and Hillary Clinton and other White House officials, and poet Robert Lax. A folder of miscellaneous letters includes one each from artist Norman Rockwell, poet Allen Ginsberg, and opera singer Beverly Sills, as well as an undated autograph note from Mlle. Marie d'Agoult, mistress to nineteenth-century composer Franz Liszt. Additions to the correspondence include a copy of Dr. Montgomery's autobiography and dissertation, and six albums containing notes, photographs, awards, memorabilia and writings.

The Modern Organization for Dance Evolvement (MODE) was a non-profit dance organization founded by Carole Y. Johnson in 1969 that preserved and celebrated Black dance through performance and education. The collection consists of the administrative files of MODE, issues of their publication The Feet, and records on The First National Congress on Blacks in Dance, a dance conference hosted at Indiana University Bloomington in 1973.

The Minton mss., 1934-1965, consist of letters, speeches, photographs, and printed materials relating to the political and judicial career of Sherman Minton, 1890-1965, U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

The Millhauser mss., 1951-2016, consist of the correspondence, writings, and professional files of American author Steven Millhauser (b. 1943).

The Miller, N mss. II consists of the manuscripts, teaching materials, correspondence, journals, and other materials of writer Nolan Miller.

The Miller E. Gamble mss., 1962-2007, consists primarily of manuscripts, drafts, correspondence and other material relating to translations into English from the Spanish, mostly of Latin American authors, made by Elizabeth Gamble Miller over the course of her career.

A member of the Republican Party, Mike Pence was elected to represent the 2nd (2001-2003) and 6th (2003-2012) congressional districts of Indiana. Michael Molenda was a professor of Instructional Systems Technology at the School of Education at Indiana University from 1972 until his retirement in 2005. During his career he co-authored the foundational textbook in his field, "Instructional Media and the New Technologies of Instruction," which is still in use today. This collection contains materials relating to Molenda's research, including editions 1 through 8 of his major textbook, articles he wrote, and presentations he made. The collection also contains his teaching material.

Collection includes audiocassette recordings of interviews about Ray Charles for Lydon's book Ray Charles : Man and Music (2004), a radio series about Ray Charles based on Lydon's book, complete or partial transcripts for many of the interviews organized loosely into book chapters, interviews with and about other African American musicians, class lectures given by Lydon at Indiana University and related publicity materials, and original music performed by Lydon.

The Mertz mss., 1902-2019, consist of the correspondence, writings, financial documents, clippings, personal ephemera, photographs, and research files of author Barbara Mertz, who wrote under the pen-names Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Michaels.

Menahem Pressler has been a professor of music at Indiana University, Bloomington since 1955, and an internationally acclaimed concert pianist since 1940. Pressler is recognized as one of the world's premier chamber musicians, solo performers, group artists, and pedagogues, and currently holds the rank of Distinguished Professor of Music as the Charles Webb Chair at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. His papers include biographical information, clippings, and program booklets.

The Meier mss., 1927-2010, consists of the correspondence and papers of education reformer Deborah W. Meier (1931-), who is frequently credited with founding the modern small schools movement in the United States.

The Media School Video Game Periodical Collection includes more than 4300 catalogs and magazines related to various aspects of games and gaming, with special emphasis on video and computer games, computer programming, and home video formats and equipment. The collection is comprised of two accessions of print materials gifted to IU by Stony Brook University Libraries and The Strong National Museum of Play in 2016 and 2018, respectively. These collections were brought to IU through Media School professor Dr. Raiford Guins, who is a leading expert on video game history and preservation. Notable items include complete runs or strong representation from the following publications: Antic: The Atari Resource, Amiga World, DieHard GameFan, EGM2, Game Developer, GamePro, Next Generation, Nintendo Power, and the Official U.S. Playstation Magazine. Collection is described to the item-level.
