The Cleghorn mss., 1826-1893, consists of correspondence and papers of Indian trader William W. Cleghorn, 1815-1878, and material pertaining to his estate.

The Cobb mss. consists of letters, 1860-1864, from Captain Thomas A. Cobb to his family.

The Hill mss., 1851-1914, consist mainly of letters and papers of James Nathaniel Hill, 1833-1902, farmer of Owen County, Indiana, and Civil War soldier.

The Hovey mss., 1841-1927, consist of letters and papers of Alvin Peterson Hovey, 1821-1891, governor of Indiana, and correspondence of his daughter, Mrs. Esther (Hovey) Menzies, and Mrs. Deidre Dorothy (Duff) Johnson.
