The Cookery mss., circa 1660–circa 1918, consists of bound and individual writings, often on the topic of cookery, of persons involved with cooking by practice or trade.

The Ngũgĩ mss. (ca. 1950s-2014) consist of the papers of Kenyan author, playwright, essayist, educator, and activist Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o.

The Preston, Robert mss., ca. 1930s-1990s, consist of correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia of stage and screen actor Robert Preston.

The Cycling mss., ca. 1879-1978, consists of materials pertaining to the growth of bicycling and the bicycling industry in the late-19th and early-20th century.

Consists of individual items acquired separately either as a gift or purchased from a variety of sources, relating to or by French literary figures. Additions continue to be made.

The Johnson, J. mss., ca. 1740-1759, consists of materials devised by Jane (Russell) Johnson primarily for the instruction of her son, George William Johnson. The materials consist of 438 items and are arranged in 24 groups. Included are alphabet cards, religious and secular lesson cards, all hand-made. Some contain colored illustrations and are decorated with multi-colored Dutch paper.

The Poole mss. are a collection of 137 ancient, medieval and renaissance manuscripts and single leaves ranging from the 3rd to the 16th century. The collection was formed by George Amos Poole, 1907- , printer, of Chicago, whose interest was in the development of scripts which have had a direct influence on the design of Western printing types, rather than in illumination and decoration. Most of this material relates to religious matters.

The Bloomington Area Arts Council mss., 1985–2007, consists of organizational documents of the Bloomington Area Arts Council (BAAC).

The Sembène mss., 1956-2008, consists of the correspondence, photographs, writings, professional files, film scripts, and related material of filmmaker and author Ousmane Sembène.

The Willkie mss., 1934-1945, consist of correspondence, diaries, political memorabilia of Wendell L. Willkie.

The Welles mss., 1930-1950 (bulk 1936-1947), consists of the correspondence, papers, and memorabilia of actor, writer, producer, and director Orson Welles 1915-1985.

The collection consists of photographs (prints and negatives), loose photo captions, and postcards related to Eisenstein's film Que viva Mexico, released in 1933 as Thunder over Mexico. The photos were taken before and during the atual filming, and include both shots of scenes from the film and of the crew at work and play. The captions were intended to accompany photos used to publicize the release of Thunder over Mexico. The nearly 80 postcards include both commercial cards and ones prepared from photos taken by and of the crew.

The Meier mss., 1927-2010, consists of the correspondence and papers of education reformer Deborah W. Meier (1931-), who is frequently credited with founding the modern small schools movement in the United States.

The Baker Street Irregulars mss., 1923-2007, consists of correspondence, business files, and publications of the Baker Street Irregulars, a Sherlock Holmes literary society founded in 1934.

The Carmichael mss., 1921-1955, consist of the papers of Hoagland Howard (Hoagy) Carmichael, 1899-1981, composer, radio artist, recording artist, writer and actor for Broadway shows and motion pictures.

Consists of distribution records, correspondence, film publicity, posters, photographs, censorship materials, and fiscal statements of film producer and distributor Richard Edward Norman.

The Ball mss., 1873-1981, consists of the correspondence, family papers, and items collected by George Alexander Ball, 1862-1955, his wife, Frances Emily (Woodworth) Ball, 1872-1958, and their daughter, Elisabeth Woodworth Ball, 1897-1982.

The Camp mss., 1873-1918 consists of the field notes of Walter Mason Camp, 1867-1925, engineer, dealing with the Indians and Indian Wars.

The Straight mss., 1864-1881, consists primarily of documents and papers relating to Captain David Evander Straight, 1832-1902, and the 100th Regiment, United States Colored Infantry, in the Civil War.

The Willett mss., 1863-1875, consist of letters and documents of the George Willett family of Quincy and Walpole, Massachusetts.
