The Lincoln mss., ca. 1798-1959, consist of letters, documents, and facsimile copies of documents by and about Abraham Lincoln, 1809-1865, his ancestors, immediate family, members of his cabinet, and other persons closely connected with him.

The Indiana History mss., 1725-1973, consists of individual items related to the history of the state of Indiana, acquired separately either as a gift, purchase, transfer, or removal from a variety of sources.

Collection of musical scores and microfilm reels, of women composers between 1500 and 1800. Condition of the materials is good.

The Kerlin mss., 1798-1925, consists of the papers of Mrs. Harriet Barton (Kerlin) Bentley, (Mrs. Frederick James Bentley), and members of three generations of her family.

Materials collected from the composition studio of Leonard Bernstein, a conductor, composer, and musician active during the mid-20th century. The collection includes recordings, books, scores, awards, artwork, clothing, furniture, and other artifacts pertaining to his professional and personal life.

The Bertendona mss., 1581-1667, consists of the papers of Spanish Armada admiral Martín de Bertendona, 1530?-1604.

The Bingham, W. mss., 1752-1891, consist of the correspondence, writings, personal and business papers of American statesman William Bingham, 1752-1804.

The Boxer mss. III, 1647-1999, consists of the correspondence, papers and memorabilia of historian Charles R. Boxer, 1904-2000.

Consists of the papers of Charles Willing Byrd. A member of the prominent Virginia family of that name, Byrd became deeply interested in the Shaker movement, and one of his sons, William Silonwe Byrd, joined the Shaker community at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. For the years 1826-1828, a considerable portion of the collection consists of letters from this son, dealing with the beliefs of the Shakers and the affairs of Pleasant Hill. The collection also includes letters to Charles Willing Byrd from members of his family, in regard to family matters. Letters from an aunt refer to the death of Washington and to conditions in Philadelphia during the War of 1812. Some light on medical practices of the day is given in letters, 1826-1828, to Byrd from his physicians, prescribing treatment for him.

The Chesterfield mss., 1740-1777, consists of letters and papers of Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th earl of Chesterfield, 1694-1773, statesman, and his godson, Philip Stanhope, 5th earl of Chesterfield, 1755-1815, master of the horse.

The Chesterfield mss., II, 1745-1770, consist primarily of the writings of statesman Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th earl of Chesterfield, 1694-1773.

The Helm mss., 1693-1965, consist of operatic scores largely in the hands of copyists, works of Mme Laure (Cinthie Montalant) Cinti-Damoreau, 1801-1863, singer and composer, and documents connected with the opera in Bologna, collected by Everett Helm, 1913-1999, composer and musicologist of New York and Asolo, Italy.

The Delany mss., 1728-1760, consists of an anthology, a volume of original drawings, and the manuscript of Marianna by Mary (Granville) Delany, 1700-1788, artist and writer.
