Initially founded in 1970 as the Indiana University Division of Continuing Education, the School of Continuing Studies was established in 1975 to offer opportunities in education for students who were unable to attend traditional formal university programs. Collection includes correspondence, subject files, catalogs, reports, marketing information, and financial records.

Maida Tilchen is an Indiana University alumna and activist who focused on LGBTQ+ and women's rights. This collection comprises .8 cubic feet and primarily consists of Tilchen's papers and collected materials documenting her life in Bloomington, Indiana and the local social justice initiatives of the 1970s.

The mission of the Indiana University LGBTQ+ Culture Center, formerly named GLBT Student Support Services, is to provide information, support, mentoring, and counseling to members of the IU campus and the larger community. The IU LGBTQ+ Culture Center seeks to fulfill their mission through networks, collaboration, education, and outreach in an attempt to create a climate where all members of the community are encouraged to promote and defend diversity. The collection consists of records relating to campus programming, speakers and events, conferences, groups, and office administration. There are also scrapbooks documenting GLBT issues on campus and the LGBTQ+ Culture Center.

Since 1983, the Grunwald Gallery of Art, formerly the School of Fine Arts Gallery (SoFA), has presented contemporary works by both professional and student artists in a special exhibition format. The records in this collection include exhibition publicity, audio and visual materials, and photographic slides spanning 1970-2015.

The origins of the Bloomington Faculty Council can be traced back to a University reorganization begun by university president Elvis J. Stahr. In 1969 the Bloomington Faculty began their own council for policy and academic decisions, as the University Faculty Council became a legislative body for all faculty in the Indiana University system. This collection consists of the agendas, minutes, circulars and supporting documents of the Bloomington Faculty Council, the governing body of the university faculty on the Indiana University -Bloomington campus. The collection is organized into six series: Agendas, Minutes, Circulars, Supporting documents, Committee Files, and Subject Files.

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University was established in 1972 in response to the growing need for trained, public servants at all levels of the government and to the lack of any such programs in Midwest. Collection consists primarily of administrative files of the first two Deans.

The Volunteer Students Bureau was established at Indiana University in the fall of 1969 under the coordination of the Student Activities Office. The organization sought to serve as a place where students could learn about volunteer opportunities in the local and regional area, to coordinate with organizations seeking volunteers and activity promoted student volunteerism through promotional activities on campus. The collection consists of administrative files.

Henry Glassie was a professor at the Indiana University Folklore Institute from 1970-1976 and 1988-2008, and is a renowned scholar in the field of folklore with a particular focus upon material culture and vernacular architecture. The collection consists of drafts, proofs and correspondence relating to his numerous publications and lectures as well as a few biographical items of Glassie's including awards and recordings of his oral history.

Edmund Battersby was an internationally renowned concert virtuoso pianist and professor at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. This collection contains materials from his professional career as a touring musician including: posters, programs, sheet music, and correspondence, the bulk of which stems from the 1970s to the 1990s.
