The Coronavirus Days: Archive Your Story is a collaborative effort between the Department of History and University Archives. The project contains 38 submissions that consist of written works, photographs, videos, and physical creations, all contributed by Indiana residents and Indiana University affiliates.

Frank de Caro and Rosan Jordan are both folklorists who worked at Louisiana State University. They co-authored several books together. This collection includes drafts and correspondence pertaining to published works, de Caro's family history, as well as some of Jordan's teaching materials and research on Day of the Dead. Included in the collection are an extensive amount of postcards that were collected from various travels.

Indiana University Student Television (IUSTV) began in 2002 under the name of iuTV and serves as Indiana University's only student managed and produced student television station. The mission of IUSTV is to create informative, entertaining, and inspiring broadcast-quality television for the Indiana University and Bloomington community, while at the same time giving students real-life experience in television production and related fields. Records in this collection include administrative information, correspondence, meeting agendas, program lineups, and other related materials.

The Upsilon chapter of Theta Nu Xi, a multicultural sorority, was chartered at Indiana University Bloomington in 2004. This collection contains awards, correspondence, new member files, newspaper clippings, and pamphlets pertaining to this chapter.

Adam W. Herbert served as President of Indiana University 2003-2007. Collection consists of speeches given by President Herbert during his tenure at Indiana University as well as a few speeches he delivered as President Emeritus.

The Kelley Student Government (KSG) was founded in 2001 and serves as the official representative voice of the Kelley undergraduate student body in Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. This collection consists of committee and council notes, including those related to the Undergraduate Policy Committee and Executive Board; president's notes; meeting minutes; project ideas, and other materials related to KSG.

Adam Herbert served as the seventeenth president of Indiana University from 2003-2007. The collection consists of records, correspondence, and administrative files from Herbert's tenure as Indiana University president.

Contains speeches by incumbent Michael A. McRobbie, Vice President for Information Technology from 1997 to 2007 and President- Elect in 2007.

The not-for-profit group Beyond the Pale Productions was founded in 1998 to promote avant-garde and improvisational jazz in the Bloomington, Indiana area. This collection includes includes press releases, newspaper clippings and flyers announcing upcoming concerts as well as background information on individual artists.

The first president of what was then Indiana College was elected by the Board of Trustees in 1829. Gerald L. Bepko served as interim president of Indiana University January through July 2003. Collection consists of one series, Subject files, and is comprised of records collected and created by Bepko and his office during his six month tenure as interim president of Indiana University. A wide range of topics are covered in the records, including IU athletics, the regional campuses, and Bepko's files on the I-69 controversy.

Pamela W. Freeman was the Associate Dean of Students and former Director of the Office of Student Ethics and Anti-harassment Programs at Indiana University Bloomington (1985-2011). This collection holds papers relating exclusively to Freeman's involvement with the Lambda 10 Project National Clearinghouse for Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Greek issues and two of its resulting publications.

The Cultural Studies Program was established circa 1992 and promotes interdisciplinary research with a focus on the relationship between cultural forms and power relations in society. The Cultural Studies Program records spans 1995-2012 and documents various aspects of the program's administration, including budgeting, funding, course scheduling, and staffing, as well as conferences and other events organized by the program.

The project ISIS was started in about 1995 by then Dean of International Programs (OIP) Patrick O'Meara and then Dean of the School of Education (SOE) Howard Mehlinger, and is ongoing today. Originally ISIS stood for "International Studies for Indiana Schools," when Indiana schools were all that it served, but some years later was changed to "International Studies In Schools", since it now serves schools (and a few other audiences) right across the country. The Collection consists of videos of programs, program files, and general administrative files of ISIS.

The I Association (formerly I-Men Association (1913-2006) and I-Women Association (1982-2006)) honors exceptional athletes at Indiana University Bloomington. This collection contains files about I Association alumni events and event planning, Board of Directors meeting information, I Association membership, and email, letter, and memo correspondence between I Association staff and alumni.

David G. Woods is a leading educator and researcher in the field of music who became the Dean of the Indiana University School of Music on July 1, 1997 and served until 1999. This collection consists of records created and collected during his time as Dean, and it includes the administrative files of his office including correspondence, records on master classes, and plans for the Distance Learning Program.

Myles Brand served as president of Indiana University 1994-2002. Collection consists of speeches given by Brand during his tenure as President of Indiana University.

Indiana University Bloomington is the home of the National Center on Accessibility, a collaborative program of IU and the National Park Service. The nation's premiere resource promoting access for people with disabilities in recreation, the NCA is a program within the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and the Department of Recreation and Park Administration. Collection is comprised of reports, studies, brochures, materials used in a summer seminar, and copies of Access today, the Center's newsletter.

The Asian Culture Center was founded at Indiana University Bloomington in 1998. The Center works to raise awareness facilitate dialogue and cultural understanding within the wider IU community about Asian experiences and issues through advocacy, cultural and educational support, community outreach, funding opportunities, and special events. This collection consists of documents relating to the creation and opening of the ACC, events and programs, student organizations, and the Asian Alumni Association.

Since 1993, the Communications Workers of America has represented Indiana University's clerical and technical workers. The collection consists of newsletters, brochures, fliers, memos, press releases and newspaper clippings.

The Civic Leadership Development (CLD) was established at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 1988. The goal of the CLD is to increase students' awareness of social challenges and issues through direct engagement in non-profits and the local community. The development of student leadership and business skills as well as professional networking is emphasized. The collection is largely comprised of administrative records, including annual reports, newsletters, organizational handbooks, and service project files.

The Alcohol-Drug Information Center was established at Indiana University in 1982, under the name Alcohol Information Center, and is operated by the Division of the Dean of Students. The mission of the ADIC is to provide information on alcohol and other drug abuse substances to the Indiana University community. In 1987, the center changed its name to the Alcohol-Drug Information Center. Dee S. Owens served as the Director of the ADIC from 2000-2012. Recently, the ADIC changed its name to the Office of Alternative Screening and Intervention Services (OASIS). The Collection consists of records documenting the ADIC's general administration grants and programs.

Myles Brand served as the sixteenth president of Indiana University from 1994 to 2002. Collection consists of records from his tenure and includes administrative files and correspondence related to his role as Indiana University President.

The origins of the Department of Communication and Culture dates from 1975 when the Department of Speech was divided into the Department of Speech Communication and the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. In 1998, the department's name was changed from the Department of Speech Communication to its current title. This collection consists primarily of files from Gregory Waller's tenure as department chair (2003-2011), and it includes departmental administrative records and faculty files.

The Nellie Showers Teter Quadrangle Student Government represents and serves the students in the student residence dorm. The collection consists of minutes, agendas, bills, correspondence, event plans, copies of the constitution and bylaws, subject files, and financial records for the student government.

The Masters of Business Administration Association (MBAA) is the student-managed not-for-profit umbrella organization chartered to enrich the quality of student life and to build relationships between students, faculty, administration, alumni, prospective students, and the business community. This collection consists of the newspaper of the MBAA spanning 1984-2004.

The Center for Survey Research was established at Indiana University Bloomington in 1981. Its primary function is to serve the academic community and policy researchers through its commitment to high quality survey research. Collection consists of surveys, correspondence, and papers related to surveys performed by the Center and its affiliates. Subjects are varied, but prominent the collection are records related to the Indiana Poll as well as surveys conducted for NASA, 1985-2005.

The School of Business at Indiana University was established in 1920 as the School of Commerce and Finance, with William A. Rawles as dean. Ten deans have since followed to the present tenure of Dean Idalene Kesner. Collection consists of correspondence, administrative files, and faculty announcements from Dan Dalton's tenure as dean of the School of Business, 1997-2004.

The Women in Folklore (WIF) Oral History Project was a centennial initiative of the women's section of the American Folklore Society. The project aimed to capture the experience of women folklorists across the country. Mary Ellen Brown, Professor of Folklore at IU, organized the project and donated the interviews in her possession to the IU Folklore Archives in 2000. The project was physically housed at the Oral History Research Center, now part of the Indiana University Center for Documentary Research and Practice, and coordinated by a graduate assistant in folklore. Interviewees include Edith Fowke, Eleanor Long, Helen Creighton, Linda Degh, Shirley Arora, Thelma James, Eleanor Long, and Frances Cattermole-Tally. The collection contains correspondence, project information, transcriptions, and audio recordings of interviews, primarily on cassette tapes.

The "Indiana Cooler" storage ring at the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF) was a storage ring for light ions, consisting of a circular magnet lattice of about 100 meters in circumference. The storage ring was built to facilitate the novel technology of electron cooling, which made possible the use of an internal target and enabled unprecedented experiments in nuclear research. The collection includes research notes, log books, administrative documents, correspondence, research proposals, photographs, and illustrations related to the operations of the Cooler storage ring and the nuclear research output that was produced with the use of the Cooler.

The concept for the Center for Excellence in Education was proposed in 1982 at Indiana University. The Center was created to provide training to educators on using technology within the classroom, and to advance the research of new educational technologies. This collection consists of files regarding the funding for the Center for Excellence in Education and plans for numerous projects.

Kenneth R.R. Gros Louis was a long time Indiana University administrator. Gros Louis served as Vice President of the entire Indiana University multi-campus system as well as Chancellor of the Bloomington campus. In 1994 Indiana University President, Myles Brand, expanded Gros Louis' role in the university's administration changing his Vice Presidential title to Vice President for Academic Affairs. The collection consists of speeches made by Gros Louis during his academic career between 1979 and 2011.

The Commission on Multicultural Understanding was established in 1982 at Indiana University. The organization strove to make IU an environment in which students could feel safe and at home, regardless of race, age, religion, ability, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. The collection consists of minutes, reports, and correspondence regarding the yearly operation of the organization as well as details audiovisual and other educational resources on topics such as race, religion, gender identity, sexual identity, sexuality, and rape awareness.

The Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Project was a documentary production undertaken by Indiana University's Folklore Institute and Radio and Television Services between 1981 and 1983. The grant-funded project allowed a team of folklorists and film crews to attend the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Festival, a long-running celebration of classic cars and automotive heritage in Auburn, Indiana, 23 miles north of Fort Wayne. The collection consists of materials that trace the evolution of the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Project from planning to debriefing and includes project participants' activities researching and filming the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg festival.

Established as the Regional Economic Development Institute in 1984, the Indiana University Institute for Development Strategies is a university-wide program that focuses on research to promote economic development, and in particular the links between globalization, entrepreneurship, and the strategic management of regions to promote economic development. Directors of the Institute have included Charles Bonser, 1988-1997, and David Audretsch, appointed in 1998. Bonser also served as the first endowed Chair of the Ameritech Fellowship Program, which was established with a grant from the Ameritech Foundation. Research projects funded by this grant targeted major issues related to the new and emerging economies of mature economic regions with emphasis placed on the American Midwest. This collection consists of correspondence, research proposals and reports, publications, annual reports, working papers, committee files, conference and workshop information, and project records. Prominent in the collection is the Director's correspondence series, organized into two sub-series by incumbent, and records relating to the research projects funded by the Institute. The collection also includes files related to the establishment of the Institute, located in the Administration series.

Esther Thelen (1941-2004) was a professor of psychology at Indiana University Bloomington and a well-known researcher in the field of developmental psychology. She is known for applying the dynamic systems theory to the study of infant motor development; this has since become the dominant theoretical viewpoint in the field. Much of Thelen's research was done at Indiana University Bloomington's Infant Motor Development Laboratory, which she established and directed. This collection contains personal files and correspondence; documents related to public speaking appearances, publications, and roles in professional organizations and committees; educational materials from psychology courses taught by Thelen; and materials related to Thelen's research, including handwritten notes, drafts of studies, and videotapes of research subjects.

Martha M. McCarthy is the Chancellor's Professor Emerita of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Indiana University. McCarthy's research focuses primarily on Education Law. Collection includes publications, drafts, teaching materials, grant proposals, and project reports. Also included are materials relating to McCarthy's involvement in professional organizations, conferences, and research data.

Established in 1975 as the Annuitants' Association of Indiana University, the Indiana University Retirees Association is an organization for retired IU employees. Its primary purpose is to make information on retirement funds and on local social activities available to its members. The IU Retirees Association records contains correspondence with university administrators, minutes of the board, membership rosters, and copies of the association's newsletter, Newswatch.

The groundbreaking feminist scholar and literary critic, Susan Gubar, began teaching at Indiana University in 1973 and retired as Distinguished Professor Emerita of English in 2010. This collection contains teaching and research material; material related to professional activities such as conferences, workshops, and committees; an extensive collection of news clippings with reviews and interviews; Gubar's publications and information related to the development of those publications, and both personal and professional correspondence.

The Polish Studies Center was established at Indiana University on October 30, 1977. The purpose of the Center was to promote activities such as lectures, discussions, academic courses, and an exchange program with Warsaw University that would increase the knowledge and cultural awareness of Poland and Eastern Europe, while bringing the areas closer together. The collection consists of a wide-variety of information pertaining to the various programs, events, lectures, and conferences formed by the Polish Studies Center, along with administrative materials that show the growth and development of the center.

Completed in 1955, the Center was originally known as the Smithwood Center and intended as a new dormitory for female students. In 1960, the Center was renamed Daniel Read Residence Center to honor the late professor of ancient languages who taught Indiana University's first female students. The Council is made up of representative groups from within the Center, including center staff. It oversees any aspect of center life affecting students and staff and serves as an open forum for staff and students to proactively address center issues, to create center programming, to efficiently use community resources, and to help sponsor events. The collection spans the years 1975-2002 and consists primarily of minutes from Council meetings but also includes handbooks and manuals related to the Council and residence hall living. The folders, and the materials in them, are in their original order.

The Chi Chapter of Beta Phi Mu, the international honor society for library and information studies, was established at Indiana University in 1971. Collection consists of administrative files that were created by various officers of the Chi Chapter from the first years of the group's existence through 2010.

Mary Jo Weaver served as a professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Indiana University from 1975 until her retirement in 2006. Her teaching career, scholarly activities, professional service, and publications are represented in the contents of this collection.

The Robert. A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program was established on the Bloomington campus in 1972 with the aid of a Lilly Endowment. It is now one of the largest and oldest programs supporting the interdisciplinary study of the Jewish people and civilization. The collection consists of the program's administrative and subject files documenting the creation and growth of the program and includes correspondence, reports, newsletters, videos, and photographic material.

The Folklore Students' Association (FSA) is a student run organization supported by the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology and Indiana University. The collection consists of correspondence, newsletters, meeting minutes and reports.

Co-sponsored by the Indiana University Alumni Association and Indiana University Bloomington Continuing Studies, Mini University began in 1972 as a unique educational and vacation experience for adults. The collection consists of administrative files, directories and working papers, and visual materials.

The Indiana University Arts Administration Program, part of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs on the Bloomington campus, was conceived in 1970 with the first students beginning the program in the fall of 1972. The program is of an inter-disciplinary nature, drawing on the cooperative efforts of SPEA, the Department of Theatre and Drama, and the Schools of Business, Music, Fine Arts, and Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, with the goal of providing a balance of artistic and business concerns, of theory and hands-on experience. The collection consists of conference and symposium files, correspondence, committee files, general administrative records, and files related to alumni and student projects.

Established in 1927, the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) undertakes projects to help U.S. state education agencies develop and implement educational policies and advocates for educational reforms at the state and national levels. Dr. Fred Czarra was the Director of International Education and Specialist in Social Studies and Interdisciplinary Learning at the Council for Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) from 1986-2006. The collection includes CCSSO committee meeting minutes, grant projects and reports, correspondence, curriculum standards, lesson plans, and publications, as well as a small amount of Czarra's personal papers.

The Early Music Institute was established as a part of the School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington in 1980, with Thomas Binkley serving as the founding director. The goal of the EMI was to address the needs of students who wanted to pursue studies and advanced degrees in professional performance of early music and collegium directing. Binkley and the EMI also established the Thomas Binkley Early Music Recordings Archive , which consisted of a vast array of sound recordings for the benefit of student performance and scholarship in early music. This collection consists of student, faculty, and project files and includes correspondence, files on curriculum development, events and publicity, and information on the development of the Thomas Binkley Archives.

Scott Russell Sanders taught in the Indiana University English Department from 1971-2009. He specialized in writing fiction, and also was heavily involved with the Wells Scholars program, serving as its director from 1997 to 2003. This collection consists of the teaching and faculty files of Dr. Sanders.

Maida Tilchen is an Indiana University alumna and activist who focused on LGBTQ+ and women's rights. This collection comprises .8 cubic feet and primarily consists of Tilchen's papers and collected materials documenting her life in Bloomington, Indiana and the local social justice initiatives of the 1970s.

The mission of the Indiana University LGBTQ+ Culture Center, formerly named GLBT Student Support Services, is to provide information, support, mentoring, and counseling to members of the IU campus and the larger community. The IU LGBTQ+ Culture Center seeks to fulfill their mission through networks, collaboration, education, and outreach in an attempt to create a climate where all members of the community are encouraged to promote and defend diversity. The collection consists of records relating to campus programming, speakers and events, conferences, groups, and office administration. There are also scrapbooks documenting GLBT issues on campus and the LGBTQ+ Culture Center.

Since 1983, the Grunwald Gallery of Art, formerly the School of Fine Arts Gallery (SoFA), has presented contemporary works by both professional and student artists in a special exhibition format. The records in this collection include exhibition publicity, audio and visual materials, and photographic slides spanning 1970-2015.

The textile and papermaking artist Joan Sterrenburg joined the faculty of the School of Fine Arts at Indiana University in 1970 and remained until her retirement in 2004. This collection consists of teaching and research material, exhibition and professional service information, materials related to student work, and correspondence.

The origins of the Bloomington Faculty Council can be traced back to a University reorganization begun by university president Elvis J. Stahr. In 1969 the Bloomington Faculty began their own council for policy and academic decisions, as the University Faculty Council became a legislative body for all faculty in the Indiana University system. This collection consists of the agendas, minutes, circulars and supporting documents of the Bloomington Faculty Council, the governing body of the university faculty on the Indiana University -Bloomington campus. The collection is organized into six series: Agendas, Minutes, Circulars, Supporting documents, Committee Files, and Subject Files.

The origins of the University Faculty Council can be traced back to a University reorganization begun by university president Elvis J. Stahr. Initially founded in 1970 as the Indiana University Division of Continuing Education, the School of Continuing Studies was established in 1975 to offer opportunities in education for students who were unable to attend traditional formal university programs. Collection includes correspondence, subject files, catalogs, reports, marketing information, and financial records.

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University was established in 1972 in response to the growing need for trained, public servants at all levels of the government and to the lack of any such programs in Midwest. Collection consists primarily of administrative files of the first two Deans.

The Volunteer Students Bureau was established at Indiana University in the fall of 1969 under the coordination of the Student Activities Office. The organization sought to serve as a place where students could learn about volunteer opportunities in the local and regional area, to coordinate with organizations seeking volunteers and activity promoted student volunteerism through promotional activities on campus. The collection consists of administrative files.

Henry Glassie was a professor at the Indiana University Folklore Institute from 1970-1976 and 1988-2008, and is a renowned scholar in the field of folklore with a particular focus upon material culture and vernacular architecture. The collection consists of drafts, proofs and correspondence relating to his numerous publications and lectures as well as a few biographical items of Glassie's including awards and recordings of his oral history.

Edmund Battersby was an internationally renowned concert virtuoso pianist and professor at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. This collection contains materials from his professional career as a touring musician including: posters, programs, sheet music, and correspondence, the bulk of which stems from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Indiana University's Office for Women's Affairs was established on August 15, 1972 in response to the growing awareness of discrimination against women in the academic community. This collection contains over forty years' worth of documents and materials from the OWA's daily operations and interactions with the Indiana University, Bloomington campus. All matters pertaining to the OWA are now handled by the Office of the Dean of Students (for student concerns) or the Provost's office (for staff and faculty concerns).

The Indiana School of Religion was established in 1910 to provide and promote Biblical and religious education to student who attended Indiana University. When IU established its own Religious Studies program in 1965, the School struggled until 1970 when it closed its doors and its assets were transferred to the IU program. This allowed the program to become an established department and it is now known as one of the oldest and most prominent in the country. This collection contains the records of the Department organized into four series: Administrative files, Committees, Correspondence, and Publications.

Michael Molenda was a professor of Instructional Systems Technology at the School of Education at Indiana University from 1972 until his retirement in 2005. During his career he co-authored the foundational textbook in his field, "Instructional Media and the New Technologies of Instruction," which is still in use today. This collection contains materials relating to Molenda's research, including editions 1 through 8 of his major textbook, articles he wrote, and presentations he made. The collection also contains his teaching material.

The American Studies Program was established at Indiana University in 1965. The collection consists of correspondence, fliers, articles, and programs related to conferences, lectures, seminars, and exchange programs sponsored by the American Studies Program.

Jack Wickes is an Indiana University alumnus who graduated in 1969. In 1968 he served as the president of the Interfraternity Council, the same year that Black students held a demonstration at the Little 500 to protest discriminatory admissions policies in IU's Greek system. This collection consists of materials dating from 1968 to 2000 that pertain to Wickes' involvement in this event, including correspondence, fliers, public statements, newspaper clippings, notes, and reports of his and others' experience. The materials date from 1968-2000.

The Modern Organization for Dance Evolvement (MODE) was a non-profit dance organization founded by Carole Y. Johnson in 1969 that preserved and celebrated Black dance through performance and education. The collection consists of the administrative files of MODE, issues of their publication The Feet, and records on The First National Congress on Blacks in Dance, a dance conference hosted at Indiana University Bloomington in 1973.

Charlie Nelms (b. 1946) served in executive leadership roles for the Indiana University system for a total of twenty-four years between 1978 and 2007. This collection spans Nelms' personal life and professional career in university administration at IU and other institutions. The collection includes writings, correspondence, publications and reports, and ephemera.

The Indiana University Folklore Institute is an active center of folklore scholarship and has a long history of collecting oral literature and arts. This collection consists of papers written on a variety of topics by students taking courses in the Folklore Institute. These papers are dated roughly between 1967 through the early 2010s.

Jesús Dapena is Professor Emeritus of Kinesiology at Indiana University. Over the course of his career, he conducted many studies in the biomechanics of human movement with a focus on sports biomechanics. This collection consists primarily of research notes, reports, and publications. It also includes some professional correspondence.

Established in 1974, the Bloomington Library Faculty Council is the formal representative organ of the library faculty at Indiana University Bloomington. The goal of the BLFC is to strengthen and coordinate the library faculty at Indiana University's flagship campus in Bloomington. The records of the BLFC consist of the administrative files, constitutions, and reports of the council and its various committees, including the secretary's files.

Myrtle Scott was a professor of educational psychology at Indiana University from 1970 until her retirement in 2002. Her primary teaching responsibilities were in the Human Development program with a focus on child development, while her research interests centered on developmental and ecological psychology. Scott's papers include biographical files, teaching files, publications, and research notes with some correspondence, with the bulk of the collection consisting of Scott's publications and research notes from 1965-2003.

The Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies (RCLSS) was initially founded by Herman B Wells in 1955 as the Research Center for Anthropology, Folklore, and Linguistics; it was renamed the Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies in 1975. RCLSS evolved and grew rapidly under the direction of Thomas A. Sebeok, who served as Chairperson from 1956 through his retirement in 1991. The Center's primary functions included research, publishing, teaching, and the advancement of institutional connections in the interdisciplinary field of semiotics. This collection contains administrative records, student files, undergraduate and graduate curriculum development materials, committee reports and records, course files, and issues of the RCLSS in-house periodical Language Sciences.

The Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies (RCLSS) was initially founded by Herman B Wells in 1955 as the Research Center for Anthropology, Folklore, and Linguistics; it was renamed the Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies in 1975. RCLSS evolved and grew rapidly under the direction of Thomas A. Sebeok, who served as Chairperson from 1956 through his retirement in 1991. The Center's primary functions included research, publishing, teaching, and the advancement of institutional connections in the interdisciplinary field of semiotics. This collection contains administrative records, student files, undergraduate and graduate curriculum development materials, committee reports and records, course files, and issues of the RCLSS in-house periodical Language Sciences.

Jan W. Jaworowski was a Professor of Mathematics at Indiana University from 1965-1995. His papers consist primarily of research material, correspondence, and conference presentations.

Myles Brand (1942-2009) was a philosopher and academic administrator who served as the sixteenth president of Indiana University (IU) from 1994 to 2002. Following his appointment at IU, Brand served as the sixth president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 2003 until his death in 2009. This collection contains publications, correspondence, audiovisual media, recording transcripts, and awards from Myles Brand, with a particular focus on his time spent at IU and the NCAA.

Claire Robertson is an Emeritus Professor of Women's Studies and History at Ohio State University and has been a visiting scholar, lecturer, and adjunct professor at Indiana University, Bloomington at various times since 1978. This collection consists of a portion of Robertson's teaching materials, research, and writings on the history and culture of women in Africa, as well as records related to her career and professional activities at Indiana University.

The Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages for High School Students (IUHPFL) began operations in 1962 as an intensive summer foreign language and study abroad program for Indiana high school students. The program began with three sites, one each in France, Germany, and Mexico, and by 2018 had expanded to twelve sites in eight countries. The collection consists of administrative documents, promotional materials, teaching and instructional materials, and scrapbooks, ephemera, and photographs.

This collection consists of the personal research, publications, correspondence, and teaching materials of Betty Jo (B.J.) Irvine, the Director of the Indiana University Fine Arts Library from 1969 to 2007. It also contains work related to her activities with professional organizations such as Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).

The American Forum for Global Education (1986-2008) was a nonprofit organization created through the merger of Global Perspectives in Education, Inc. (1976-1986), which was a former branch of the Center for War/Peace Studies of the New York Friends Group, and the National Council on Foreign Language and International Studies. The American Forum for Global Education provided professional development, curriculum materials, lesson plans, and resources to educators for teaching students about global/international history, culture and sociopolitical issues. This collection is predominantly comprised of publications of the American Forum for Global Education and its predecessor organizations.

The Indiana University Department of Spanish and Portuguese offers courses and degrees in both Spanish and Portuguese for graduate and undergraduate students. This collection covers a variety of administrative records including minutes, department reviews and plans, faculty information, department event information, and the visit of Ernesto Cardenal.

The Wendell L. Willkie Quadrangle opened in the fall of 1964 as a residence hall for men and women, and was rededicated as the Willkie Residence Center in 2000. This collection contains four scrapbooks that were compiled by staff of the Willkie Quadrangle residence hall between 1968 and 1981. The scrapbooks contain photographs, newspaper clippings, event pamphlets, and other materials that document staff and resident events during their respective time periods. In addition, the collection contains loose photographs of Willkie staff and leadership teams from 2004-2007, as well as loose newspaper clippings and other materials documenting Willkie residents and staff from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.

The Graduate School at Indiana University was founded, upon the recommendation of the Committee on Advanced Degrees, on February 1, 1904. For many years, a Research Committee handled the many graduate research funding requests until the 1977-1978 school year, when the Office of Research and Graduate Development (R&GD) was established to govern higher research at IU. In 1989, R&GD merged with the University Graduate School to become Research and the University Graduate School (RUGS). To lead this program, George Walker was appointed Dean of the Graduate School and Associate Vice President for Research. The merger combined the financial resources of the two offices while unloading some of the recordkeeping and admission duties onto the individual schools within the university. As a result, RUGS administrators were better able to work on cultivating financial resources and to study graduate student concerns. Prominent in the collection are records reflecting the heavy research mission of the university, such as the files on the many research centers and institutions, which comprises more than half of the collection.

The collection consists of the administrative papers from the tenure of Henry H. Remak, who served as director or the Institute for Advanced Study from 1988-1994 and interim director from 1997-1998.

Indiana University's Foster Quad Student Government was established shortly after the opening of the dormitory in 1962. The collection consists of minutes, agendas, bills, subject files, publications, and correspondence.

Sandra Dolby is an alumna and faculty member of the department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University. She taught Folklore courses at IU from 1979 to 2010, during which time she also taught American Studies at Norway as a Fulbright Traveling Scholar. The collection reflects her interests in pedagogy, American Studies, and the application of literary theory to the study of folklore and personal narrative. It contains syllabi and teaching materials, manuscripts and presentations about her research, and documents from her service in and out of the university, as well as biographical materials.

A distinguished scholar of Shakerism in America, Stephen J. Stein is a Chancellor's Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at Indiana University. The collection contains Stein's published articles, research, professional activities and correspondence.

The University Club was established at Indiana University in 1959 by combining four older Indiana University clubs: the Men's Faculty Club (established in 1912), the University Women's Club (originally titled the Faculty Women's Club when established in 1913, renamed in 1959), the Women's Faculty Club (established in 1923), and the Newcomer's Club (originally part of the University Women's Club). From 1959 until 1988, the University Club acted as an umbrella organization for the four separate clubs it contained. In this structure each individual club pursued its own programs and also participated in University Club programs. Starting in 1989, however, all programs developed by the four separate clubs have been listed under the rubric of the University Club and have been open to all members of the University Club. The goals of the University Club are to organize and implement social and cultural events.

Jon Michael "Mike" Dunn (1941-2021) was an active faculty member and administrator at Indiana University, Bloomington from 1969-2007. Dunn started his career at IU in the Department of Philosophy and was additionally named a professor in the Department of Computer Science in 1989. He was also the first executive associate dean for the College of Arts and Sciences 1988-1993 and the founding dean of the School of Informatics 1999-2007. This collection represents Dunn's work across his career, including activities at IU and research and publishing activities related to relevance logics and algebraic approaches.

Since 1976 the Office of International Programs has been the central administrative unit at Indiana University to ensure that teaching, research, and other public services include a global dimension. The Office of Overseas Study is one of four offices under the direction of OIP. Collection includes subject files, reports, committee files, grant proposals, and public relations material. Program files include information on the city and country of particular exchange programs, along with the correspondence of the resident director.

Robert Heinich was a professor in the School of Education at Indiana University from 1969 to 1990. During his time at IU, he served as the chair of the Instructional Systems Technology Program. Heinich also served for several years as editor of the Journal of Educational Computing Research. This collection largely contains copies of scholarly articles written by Heinich. Also included in the collection are interviews, biographical information, and Heinich's dissertation.

Lynn M. Jamieson was an active faculty member at Indiana University, Bloomington from 1983 to 2018. Jamieson joined the Indiana University Department of Recreation and Park Administration as an Associate Professor, then was promoted to full professorship in 2001 and later became chair of the renamed Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism, among other administrative responsibilities. This collection represents research materials collected by Jamieson as well as her professional activity at IU.

Roy Sieber was a historian of African art who taught at Indiana University Bloomington from 1962 through 1983. Having been the first person to receive a degree in African art in the United States, Sieber was the creator of the study of African art history in the United States. This collection contains prints of his black and white photographs of African art in use and on display, slides of African art in museums, and annotated bibliographies written by his students exploring specific aspects of art in Africa.

The Department of History and Philosophy of Science was established in 1960 "to explore, as an independent field of study, the conceptual development of scientific ideas, as well as their integral logical structure." The collection consists of departmental records, including meeting minutes and correspondence; faculty files; and subject files, including newspaper clippings.

The Indiana University Apartment and Family Student Council was established at Indiana University in 1967 under the name the Married Students' Council. The organization underwent two name changes throughout its history: in 1978 it became the Family Student Council, and circa 2004 it became the Apartment and Family Student Council. The organization's mission was to foster community and host engaging programming for married students residing with their families on or around campus. The collection consists of materials dated between 1957 and 2013, including meeting minutes; agendas; publications; financial records; correspondence with other key organizations on campus; documentation of various subcommittees; and materials pertaining to topics such as community activities, campus developments, and childcare.

Iliya Harik was Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Indiana University Bloomington whose research and academic activities centered on Middle Eastern and comparative politics, government, and development. This collection contains a broad range of material related to Harik's academic research and teaching activities and personal life, including articles, drafts, correspondence, research proposals and notes, reports, course syllabi, and lecture notes and audio recordings.

Harold Pepinsky was Professor of Criminal Justice and Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University from 1976-2008. His writings focus on how the criminal justice system can be the cause or cure for crime and research interests include peacemaking criminology, restorative justice, violence against children, and ritual abuse. The collection consists of materials relating to his position at IU and professional interests, including correspondence, case files, publications, teaching files, awards and collected materials.

In 1960, due to the development of co-educational living centers, the then-existing Men's and Women's Residence Halls Associations were combined into one co-educational organization, the Residence Halls Association. Records in this collection include but are not limited to correspondence, minutes, memos, publications, election and committee files, and reports from just before its establishment, 1956, through 2007. The bulk of the collection dates between 1980 and 1996.

Carole Yvonne Johnson (1940- ) is a dancer, choreographer, and activist known for her focus on Black contemporary and Aboriginal dance. This collection contains her personal papers including records on her dance companies and tours throughout Australia and the United States.

James M. Becker joined the faculty of the Indiana University School of Education in 1971, serving as a member and later as the director (1981-1987) of the IU Social Studies Development Center. During his time at IU, Becker initiated, developed and advocated global education curriculum standards for elementary and secondary school systems in addition to creating teacher training programs. This collection consists largely of publications related to Becker's work in global education as well as his correspondence and administrative files.
