​The Eastman, A.F. mss., 1896-1956, consists of the correspondence of Anstice Ford Eastman, 1878-1937, surgeon, with his mother, Annis Bertha (Ford) Eastman, 1852-1910, minister; his father, Samuel Elijah Eastman, 1846-1925, clergyman; his sister, Crystal Eastman, 1881-1928, lawyer; and his brother, Max Eastman, 1882-1969, author.

The Hahn-Brandt mss., 1935-1983, consists of New York literary agency Brandt & Brandt office files concerning American author and journalist Emily Hahn, 1905-1997.

​The Eastman, E. mss., 1923-1958, consists primarily of the correspondene and writings of Eliena Vassilyenva Krylenko Eastman, 1895-1956, artist, and Max Eastman, 1883-1969, author.

The Eastman mss. II, 1869-1981, consist of the correspondence, writings, personal papers, and photographs of Max Eastman, 1883-1969.

The Norton mss. II, 1943-1960, consist primarily of letters from author Max Forrester Eastman, 1883-1969, to assistant magazine editor, Florence Norton. Also present are a few letters and telegrams from Eastman's second wife, Eliena Krylenko, 1895-1956, and a few from his third wife, Yvette Szekely (b.1912), following their marriage in 1958. Through 1956 these letters complement those found in the Norton mss. That is, this is the Eastman side of the correspondence while the Norton mss. are Florence Norton's letters to Max.

The Farano mss., 1954-1955, consist of letters and postcards from author Max Eastman to poet Michel Farano.

The Eastman mss. V, 1880-2009, consist of the photographs, correspondence, personal papers, writings, and legal documents of Max Eastman, 1883-1969; and Yvette Szekely Eastman, 1912-2014.

The Eastman mss. IV, 1890-2009, consist of the photographs, correspondence, personal papers, writings, and artwork of Max Eastman, 1883-1969; Yvette Szekely Eastman, 1912-2014; and Eliena Krylenko Eastman, 1895-1956.

The Trotskii mss., 1900-1957, consist principally of the correspondence of Lev Trotskii, 1879-1940, Russian communist leader, and Max Eastman, 1883-1969, author, during the period when Eastman was preparing his book about Trotskii in 1922 and 1923 and later when he served unofficially as Trotskii's literary agent from 1929 to 1933.

The McKay mss., 1919-1948 and 1968, consist principally of the correspondence of Claude McKay, 1890-1948, poet, and Max Eastman, 1883-1969, author.
