The Revilliod mss., 1919-1971, are the papers of Mrs. Olga (Masaryk) Revilliod, (Mrs. Henri Jules Revilliod), 1891-1978, daughter of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, 1850-1937, president of Czechoslovak Republic, 1918-1935. They consist of letters from her sister, Alice Garrigue Masaryk, 1879-1966, sociologist, 1950-1962; from Mrs. Ruth (Crawford) Mitchell, 1890-1984, social service worker, 1954- 1964; from U.S. senators, who were sponsoring a bill in Congress for Henri Jules Revilliod, 1873-1956, physician, and Mrs. Olga (Masaryk) Revilliod, to become permanent residents of the United States; from scholars not to pursue the matter of finding a publisher for volume III of the Spirit of Russia; from publishers; and from personal friends. Many of the letters are in Czech. Included are also thirty-one sketchbooks, 1920-1956, of sketches made by Henri Jules Revilliod; a musical composition, Vanocni Koledy, by Karel J. Staller, 1958; memorabilia; pictures; newspaper clippings, and other printed matter. Among the correspondents are Selden Daskam Bacon, Price Daniel, Frederick May Eliot, Harry David Gideonse, Ivan Herben, James Hovorka, John Howland Lathrop, Herbert Henry Lehman, Edward Martin, Alice Garrigue Masaryk, Kenneth Dexter Miller, Mrs. Ruth (Crawford) Mitchell, Premysl Pitter, William Arthur Purtell, Hugh Doggett Scott, James Thomson Shotwell, Grace Harriet Spofford, and Sir Stanley Unwin.
