Biographical Note

Ebba E. Drolshagen, 1948- , is a German translator. She was born on October 11, 1948 in B端dingen, Germany. After the death of her father, she moved to Norway with her mother and lived there until 1953. She went on to study German and English in Frankfurt and at the University of Chicago. Since 1985, she has worked as a translator, translating works in Danish, English, and Norwegian into German. She has also authored several works of her own, including Der Melancholische Garten (1987), a history of Frankfurt's main cemetery, and Gebrauchsanweisung f端r Norwegen (2019), a guide to Norway and its people. Drolshagen currently lives in Frankfurt.

Scope and Content Note

The Drolshagen mss., 2001-2002, consists of correspondence, manuscript notes, corrected drafts, and line-edited manuscripts of Ebba D. Drolshagen's translation into German of Griefwork , by British author James Hamilton-Paterson. The novel appeared in German as Nachtbl端te , published by Insel Verlag in 2003.
