Biographical Note

Susanne Höbel, 1953- , is a German author and translator of English into German who has translated works by John Updike, Marian Keyes, and William Faulkner, among others.

Scope and Content Note

The Höbel mss., circa 2000-2002, consist of translations from English into German by Susanne Höbel. Included are two corrected manuscripts for John Updike's volume of essays, More Matter . Published as two volumes in translation, the first was titled Wenn ich schon gefragt werde (Rowohlt Taschenbuch Verlag, 2001) and the second as Updike und ich (Rowohlt, 2002).
