Robin Greer, 1943-2015, was born on 16 August 1943 and studied at Trinity College, Oxford. He started selling antiquarian books at the Chelsea Antique Market in 1967 and opened Chelsea Rare Books in 1970. He later co-founded the Imaginative Book Illustration Society and The Traveller's Bookshelf. Specializing in travel literature, illustrated books, and children's books, he sold his materials under the name Rarerobin Books. Greer died in Somerset, England, on 13 September 2015.
The poems in this collection are all from the 1960s and include original typescripts, works of art, and periodicals Greer gathered as part of a projected—yet unpublished—anthology of concrete poetry for Trigram Press. Concrete poets represented by original manuscripts include Dom Sylvester Houédard, Henri Chopin, Bob Cobbing, John Furnival, Pedro Xisto, and Greer himself. Greer's own contribution to the genre was the addition of a wider range of color to typewriter art.
