Woody Allen (b. 1935) is an American director and comedian best known for his films Annie Hall and Hannah and her Sisters . In 1991 Allen began a romantic and sexual relationship with his longtime romantic partner Mia Farrow's daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, who had just finished high school. This relationship, as well as his daughter Dylan Farrow's allegations of molestation and sexual abuse by Allen, led to a lengthy custody dispute, which is addressed in the correspondence in this collection.
The collection consists of four notes and one signed wine label (Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 1949) from Allen to Mia Farrow, ca. 1980s, and one inscribed childhood photo of Allen at a track meet, ca. 1947. Also included are ten letters from Allen to children's author Bruce LaFontaine, 1994-2000, in which Allen discusses his frustrations about his visitation limits with his children.
The collection is arranged following original order.
