Eleanor C. Vandevort Nuer field notes collection, 1949-2003

This collection features the field notes of Eleanor Vandevort, a missionary in South Sudan from 1949 through 1968, with a focus on Vandevort's Nuer-English lexicons and pedagogical materials for Nuer grammar. Also included are materials related to the digitization of Vandevort's materials and the creation of the Nuer field collection website by the IU Libraries African Studies Collection in collaboration with the IU Digital Library Program following the donation of her collection to Indiana University in 2000. Co-editors of the website included, Marion Frank-Wilson and Edward A. Miner.

H. K. Banda Archive, 1924-2005, bulk 1950-1997

This collection consists of the papers of Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda, former Life President of Malawi, and those of his official biographer, Dr. Donald Brody, dating mostly from the 1950s to the 1990s. Additional materials collected by Paula Brody were later added to the collection.
