Background

Biographical / Historical:

Born, raised and educated in Nebraska, Farber graduated from the University of Nebraska, receiving his B.S. in Law in 1948 and Juris Doctor in 1950. Today Farber represents theatrical productions, actors, actresses, directors, producers, authors, theatre owners, repertory companies, and persons in every aspect of theatre, film and the other creative arts. He is the author of seven books dealing with various business and legal aspects of theatre, including: From Option to Opening; Producing on Broadway and Common Sense Negotiation: The Art of Winning Gracefully. Farber has taught at York University in Toronto, Brooklyn College, New York University, and the Hofstra School of Law, and was on the faculty of The New School for Social Research from 1972 to 1994. Farber is married to the former Ann Eis, who was Professor of Mathematics at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University. When she retired from teaching, she and Mr. Farber organized the Farber Literary Agency Inc., of which she is the President.

They are primarily photocopies of original documents.

Comprising the bulk of the collection, the Business Records include royalty reports, contracts and items related to the publication of Vonnegut's works. Vonnegut Writings series contains drafts, copies, and published writings produced by Vonnegut. Estate Files refer to all materials relating to the estate and trust created after Vonnegut passing in 2007, including Vonnegut's last will and testament and financial documents. Vonnegut Biographical Materials contain personal files and information about Vonnegut's life, including his three divorce proceedings, etc.
