Background
- Biographical / Historical:
Joseph P. Antonow, 1915-1990, was a Chicago attorney for 50 years, during which he served as a senior partner at Antonow & Fink. He served on several committees during his career, including the executive committee of the Chicago Youth Centers, the board of the Chicago International Film Festival, the board of the Modern Poetry Association, the executive committee of the Study of Democratic Institutions and U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas' private counsel. According to his obituary in the Chicago Tribune, he was on Richard Nixon's "enemies list." Antonow also collected art, which he donated to various national collections and exhibitions.
