- Biographical / Historical:
Linda Dégh, 1920-2014, was professor of folklore at Indiana University, Bloomington. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she graduated from Péter Pázmány University. After teaching in the folklore department at Eötvös Loránd University, Dégh accepted a position with the folklore department at Indiana University, Bloomington in 1965.

The Degh mss., 1968-1978, consists of the manuscripts of writings by Linda Dégh, 1920-2014, professor of folklore at Indiana University, Bloomington. Included are a carbon typescript and printer's manuscript for Folktales and society; storytelling in a Hungarian peasant community, (Bloomington, Indiana University Press, 1969), and the printer's manuscript for Studies in East European folk narrative (American Folklore Society, 1978).
