- Biographical / Historical:
Oliver Herford, 1863-1935, was a poet and illustrator. He was born in Sheffield, England on December 2, 1860, and moved to the United States in 1882. His illustrations, cartoons, and humorous poems appeared in works such as Life, Ladies' Home Journal, and Harper's Weekly. He also illustrated over thirty books, including Pen and Inklings (1893), Rubaiyat of a Persian Kitten (1904), and A Little Book of Bores (1906).
