The McDonald mss., 1854-1891, are papers of Joseph Ewing McDonald, 1819-1891, U.S. senator. They include a letter from Cortez Ewing of Greensburg, Indiana, August 8, 1864, about seven thousand dollars loaned to the state of Indiana by Decatur County; a campaign speech for the re-election of Grover Cleveland as President; speech to the farmers of Marion County, Indiana, on the McKinley tariff bill; a response at the Thurman Club; and seven scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, speeches, and other political papers, 1854-1891.
