- Biographical / Historical:
Dale Messick, 1906-2005, was a cartoonist and author of the Brenda Starr, Reporter comic strip from South Bend, Indiana.
- Scope and Content:
Each panel is dated with the month and day of its appearance in print.
Additions to the collection consist of 60 original pen and ink drawings for the daily strip. There are two panels for 1973 appearances, 44 for the period Apr. 12-Nov. 30, 1974; 13 from May 21-Dec. 26, 1975; and one dated Jan. 12, 1976.
Additions consist of 52 original pen and ink drawings for the daily strip. There is one panel for Jan. 1972, 44 for March through Dec. 1975, six for Jan. 1976, and one for 1977 that is not dated as to month or day.
Additions consist of pen and ink drawings for the daily strips, Sept. 3, 1979-Jan. 5, 1980.
Additions consist of original drawings for the daily strips, Jan. 18-July 2, 1971 and Aug. 28-Nov. 8, 1972.
