- Biographical / Historical:
Dale Messick, 1906-2005, was a cartoonist and author of the Brenda Starr, Reporter comic strip from South Bend, Indiana.
- Scope and Content:
The stories for the 1950 strips include Queen Vallorie, the Lost Dutchman Mine, and the Great Hamboli. The 1966 panels continue the story of Chance O'Showers (see Messick II additions) and Merrie Rider.
Each panel is dated with the month and day of publication.
Additional drawings consist of 123 panels for the daily strip, Jan.-Dec. 12, 1956.
