Boris Ivanovich Nikolaevskiî, 1887-1966, was an author. At the time of his death he was in charge of the Nikolaevskii collection of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. As a world renowned Russian revolutionary of pre-Revolutionary days, as an exile since the early 1920s in Germany, France and the United States, where he arrived in 1940, and as a scholarly writer of strong anti-Bolshevik convictions, he was perhaps one of the most representative and knowledgeable spokesmen for Menshevism. He was an arduous and indefatigable collector of materials on socialist and revolutionary movements and on "emigrations."
