Background

Biographical / Historical:

The quarterly began publication in autumn 1963 and ceased with series 2, number 3/4 in January 1969. Originally published in Somerset, England and later in Cambridge, Resuscitator was edited by John James and Nick Wayte. John James was born in Cardiff, Wales and was educated at the University of Bristol. Along with editing Resuscitator, he published several collections of poetry, such as Welsh Poems (1967), Tragheit (1968), and Letters from Sarah (1969). He is married to poet Wendy Mulford. Nick Wayte of Cheltenham, England both contributed poems to the magazine and assisted with printing some issues of Resuscitator.

Correspondents include Jim Burns, David Chaloner, Douglas Oliver, John Hall, John James, Tim Longville, Tom Raworth, Charles Tomlinson, Chris Torrance, and Nick Wayte.
