Abstract:
The Indiana University School of Business 50th anniversary in 1970 generated interest in documenting the foundation and history of the school. School of Business faculty decided to create an oral history series called "An Oral History of the Origin and Development of the Indiana University School of Business" that was recorded on videotape. This collection contains these tapes, which are also digitized.

Background

Biographical / Historical:

The School of Business was an outgrowth of the "Commercial Course" established in 1902, which became the School of Commerce and Finance in 1920. The name was changed to School or Business Administration in 1933, and School of Business in 1938. The graduate program was officially designated the "Graduate School of Business" in 1961.

Scope and Content:

This collection contains 108 videotapes spanning 1974-1986. "An Oral History of the Origin and Development of the Indiana University School of Business" was produced by Indiana University School of Business Television Productions and hosted by business professor, John Mee. In the series Mee interviews faculty, staff, alumni, and local Bloomington businesses about the history of the IU School of Business and their own careers and life experiences.
