- Biographical / Historical:
The Friends of the Lilly Library was an auxiliary group connected to the Lilly Library on Indiana University's Bloomington campus. Founded in 1980, they were responsible for fundraising and for presenting events at the Lilly relating to its collections and exhibits.
- Scope and Content:
The financial series includes check authorizations, receipts, gift deposit information, and book appraisals and acquisitions organized by the Friends. The organizational governance series includes documents relating to the Friends of the Lilly Library board members and committees, including the minutes and agendas of the meetings and correspondence between members. The events series contains materials related to annual meetings, the annual dinner, lectures, the student book collecting contest, and other special events.
