Biographical / Historical:

Robert H. Ferrell (b. 1921) is an American historian and author of several books on Harry S. Truman and the diplomatic history of the United States. He received a B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1946 and a Ph.D. from Yale in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and as an intelligence analyst in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Ferrell began his career at Indiana University as an Assistant Professor in 1953, subsequently rising to the post of Distinguished Professor of History in 1974.

James F. Goode (b. 1944) is a historian and history educator with an interest in US-Iranian relations in the early Cold War era. He received a Bachelor of Science from the Foreign Service School of Georgetown University and a Master's of Art in History at the University of Massachusetts, as well as a doctorate in history from Indiana University. Goode volunteered with the Peace Corps in Iran from 1968-1971 and taught at the University of Mashad from 1971-1973. In 1978, Goode and his family immigrated to America where he began his teaching career in the United States, developing area studies and courses in Middle East Studies and authoring several works on the topic. Robert Ferrell was his dissertation advisor.
