Background

Biographical / Historical:

Michael Jackson, known as the King of Pop, began his musical career at the age of 11 as the lead singer of the Jackson Five. His biggest solo successes came after his collaboration with producer Quincy Jones, resulting in hits like "Thriller", "Billie Jean", and "Beat It". Jackson's musical style was eclectic, ranging from ballads and soul to metal-inflected funk.

Scope and Content:

The collection consists primarily of magazines and special commemorative publications purchased by the AAAMC following Jackson's death in 2009.
