The Dreiser mss. III, 1928-1945, consists of several photographs and one lithograph pertaining to author Theodore Dreiser, 1871-1945.

The Veridian mss., 1981, consists of materials relating to the founding and publication of the first issue of the Veridian newspaper, published in Bloomington, Indiana.

The Flanagan mss., 1861-1962, are the papers of Emma Cecelia (Rector) Flanagan, (Mrs. Edward E. Flanagan), 1870- 1964. They consist primarily of correspondence with the Dreiser and Rose families dealing with personal matters.

The Riley mss. VI, 1876-1916, consist largely of transcripts of the letters of James Whitcomb Riley, 1849- 1916, poet, of Greenfield and Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Piercy mss., 1911-1942 (mainly 1925-1929), are letters from English and American authors to Josephine Ketcham Piercy, 1895- , teacher of English at the University of Illinois and Indiana University.

The Piercy, J.W. mss., 1889-1940, consist of letters and papers of Joseph William Piercy, 1866-1943, writer and professor of journalism, and his family.

The Ehrmann mss., 1899-1926, consists of letters to Max Ehrmann, 1872-1945, author, from Eugene Victor Debs, Frank Harris and Upton Beall Sinclair, and Mrs. A. Schember.

The Bernays mss., 1890-1955, consists of manuscripts collected by Louise (Lee) Bernays, 1888-1974, librarian of The Indianapolis News for twenty-three years.

The Callahan mss., 1894-1898, consists of letters, poems, and photographs from or relating to James Whitcomb Riley.

The Chapman Mss., 1913-1922 and 1933, consists of the correspondence with and relating to Indian author Charles Edmonds Walk, 1875-, from the office file of president of the International Press Bureau, Chicago, Illinois William Gerard Chapman, 1877-1945.

The Clark mss., 1909-1957, consists of the letters and writings of author, editor, and publisher Thomas Curtis Clark, 1877-1953, as well as the autographs and poems of other writers collected by him.

The American literature mss., 1789-2000, consists of an ongoing collection of individual items related to American literature.

The Broad Ripple High School mss., 1937-1961, are those letters from Indiana authors collected by Broad Ripple High School, Indianapolis, Indiana, for its Indiana Nook.

The Wakefield mss. II, 1995-2002 collection consists of materials related to the film adaptation of Going All the Way by novelist, journalist, and screenwriter Dan Wakefield, 1932-

The Adams mss., 1912-1981, consists of the letters, photographs, and writings by and about author Booth Tarkington, 1869-1946, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kennebunkport, Maine. The collection was compiled by Reily Gibson Adams, 1911-1982, whose first wife, Mary Stewart Haines, 1912-1975, was Tarkington's first cousin twice removed.

The Barnstone, A. mss., 1968-, consists of the poems and correspondence of poet Aliki Dora Barnstone, 1956-.

The Bobbs-Merrill mss., 1885-1983, consists of the records of book publisher Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc., located in Indianapolis, IN.

The Catherwood mss., 1880-1902, consists of the letters of writer Mary (Hartwell) Catherwood (Mrs. James Steele Catherwood), 1847-1902, to Mary Elizabeth (Riley) Payne (Mrs. Frank C. Payne), 1864-1936, sister of James Whitcomb Riley.

The Clayton mss. consists of the manuscripts of author and Indiana University News Bureau writer Bernard Clayton, 1916-2011.

The Appleton-Century mss., 1846-1962, consists of the office files of the publishing company, its two predecessors, D. Appleton & Co., and the Century Co., and to a small extent its successor, Appleton-Century Crofts, Inc.
